perseverance.

and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. not only so, but we
also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering
produces perseverance;  perseverance, character; and character, hope.
and hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love
into our hearts
by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

romans 5:2-5

zach's in china. CHINA. and i havent talked to him in like five days or something, which is really weird cause we talk every single day, more than twice, which is also weird. but its like being weaned off coffee. and i'm saying that, not because i'm obsessed with my boyfriend, but because he's my best friend that i talk to every day and now i don't. and its weird. my days aren't the same. he's over there ching chonging it up and i'm here painting away my misery while listening to sad rainy day music like frank sinatra. just kidding.

but i have been painting alot, its so relaxing and it makes me feel like i'm artsy or something. cause no one else has ever painted that exact painting that i've painted. just like no one has ever written this exact thing that i'm writing right now. thats crazy to think about, cause its just plain words. or just plain paint on plain paper. (well, its actually expensive acrylic paint paper..but you get my drift).

also, yesterday and the day before have collectively been the funnest (i dont care if funnest is not a word) two days i have had in a long time. me and ryan explored old farm roads (which includes "trespassing" in an orchard...with a car...), braved the outlet mall, made music videos in the car, made a full dance up for "party in the usa", went to the beach after driving two long hours, got lost in portland twice and gambled in an over 21 casino.. and made $13. that, was an adrenaline-raising experience that i will never forget. the money slot on the machine even said "NO ONE UNDER 21 MAY USE THIS MACHINE" but we did it anyways. what a rush.

spirit mountain casino, i will never forget you.

oh wait.

make us feel like we're living

let us love like we were children.

nothing changes too slowly

We bear your name,
and you let us say
you are something that you're not.
As if you were made after we saw our own faces,
and knew we were gods enough.

I think we were made too pretty.
We're caught up in a stare we cannot break.
We know nothing changes too slowly.
Someday we might come down,
but who's to really say?

And if we are the body,
how'd the pretty men get so ugly?
How'd he get all these spaces between each limb?
And if there is one thing bigger than my head,
that's the distance I've been mislead.

'Cause I think we were made too pretty.
We're caught up in a stare and we can't break.
We know nothing changes too slowly.
And someday I might come down,
oh, I don't wanna come down.
I think we became too pretty.

We don't want a God we don't see in ourselves don't see we're in need.

I think we were made too pretty.
We're caught up in a stare and we can't break.
I think we were made too pretty.
Yeah, so much we don't see it yet.
We don't see it.

We know nothing changes too slowly.
